Today I saw a Crested Caracara for the first time... make that 2 Caracaras! They were in our parkway here in NW Austin and the photo was taken through a dusty window.

A paved road in the background. Two large birds stand on the grass parkway, heads raised. Bodies are dark brown with white throats, mottled back feathers, and black crests from top of head down back of necks. Big orange beaks with gray-brown at tips.
